Fantastic Medea

Here're 2 clips of "Medea" by Virginia Commonwealth University. What's unusual about this production is that the leading role, Medea, is played by deaf actress Mary Vreeland. Hence, while other characters are speaking using their own voices, Medea had to convey her words through the voices of the nurse and the chorus. In short, it is very powerful, signifying the "silent" voice of the femme fatale which was virtually ignored by everyone around her.

Unrehearsed Jamming Session

So today we had our Sound Design lesson, and it turned out to be a mini jamming session between Fadd's acoustic bass, Sage's electric guitar, Pet's vocal chord and me! How did I come into the picture? I was the "sound engineer", actually just a recording man holding on to a portable MD recorder and almost lying on the ground with my face to the speaker. Hence, here you are, a recording of the jamming with very little editing.

The trio did not really rehearse beforehand, but it didn't sound too bad. Maybe next time we can really form a TA3A band and do our own recordings. That's what you call putting our knowledge to good use right?
